“Trail rides in the country are a popular Sunday tradition in the Creole community, and they always wind things up with a dance. If you happen to be within earshot, the first thing you’ll hear is the 'double clutch' kick drum that is the pulse of young zydeco bands today. As a power trio, we slammed this rhythm down live in the studio with no overdubs. I wanted to get the raw energy you’d feel in a full-out gallop on the levee.”
