Hell At Home
"This was inspired by another song too – my friend Robben Ford's 'Talk To Your Daughter.' But the feel comes more from 'Walking Blues,' the way Paul Butterfield did it on his second album, East-West. We cut this one completely live; I even kept the vocal. We recorded with vintage mics so that the National guitar got picked up in the vocal mic and vice versa. The effect was really raw and I love the way that comes across in the mix."
