"Most people think of Texas blues when they hear this rhythm, but I grew up with it in Louisiana. On this track it’s pretty close to one kind of shuffle I used to play with Clifton Chenier, but with a more aggressive slide guitar sound. We wanted the contrast of that with the old style thud of the drum kits recorded during the Excello label heyday of Slim Harpo and Lazy Lester. Kind of a power shuffle with attitude."
